Barcelona: Protest against Escada

On Saturday 2nd February, Barcelona joined the Escada Campaign. Individuals against fur held a protest outside Escada in Passeig de Gracia in order to add Spain to the global campaign against fur sales at Escada. Protesters gathered at midday outside the shop with placards, handing out leaflets about Escada´s role in the fur trade and collecting signatures against it. Many customers were dissuaded from entering the shop by the presence of protesters, and interested passers-by were also informed as to how to tell the difference between real and fake fur so as not to be deceived. In addition, workers at Escada were handed leaflets advising them what to do if they themselves are against the fur trade at Escada and wish to help stop it. It was a successful action against Escada, and will be repeated until Escada agrees to discontinue the use of fur in its designs.
